For KiloGrit: Workout Journal
Effective date: October 22, 2026
KiloGrit is an offline workout journal. This Policy explains how the app and the KiloGrit website handle information. The data controller is the owner of KiloGrit, an individual located in the Russian Federation. For privacy questions, contact andrey.fxz@gmail.com.
1. Information stored in the app
KiloGrit stores the information you enter to provide its workout-journal features: your profile details, training plans, exercises, sets, repetitions, weight, rest timers, workout history, goals, preferences, and locally generated progress statistics.
This information is stored in a database on your device. KiloGrit does not create user accounts, does not operate a cloud backup or synchronization service, and does not transmit this information to our servers.
2. Apple Watch and Apple Health
If you choose to use the Apple Watch workout feature and grant Apple Health permission, KiloGrit reads your heart rate and active energy during the workout. It uses these values to show live training intensity and saves the finished strength workout to Apple Health.
Recent heart-rate samples are temporarily kept on the watch while a workout is active. Workout summary metrics, such as active energy, average heart rate, and peak heart rate, are sent only between your paired Apple Watch and iPhone through Apple's WatchConnectivity service and are stored on your devices. KiloGrit does not send Health data to our servers or use it for advertising, marketing, or profiling.
You can deny or revoke Health permission at any time in the Health app or device Settings. The workout journal continues to work without Health access; health metrics will simply not be available.
3. Product analytics and technical information
With your separate consent, KiloGrit sends limited in-app usage events to our server so we can understand which features work well, find technical problems, and improve the product. Events may record screen views, workout starts and completions, set completions, template actions, onboarding progress, settings changes, and sync outcomes. We do not send names, email addresses, profile text, notes, exercise names or details, weight values, health information, heart rate, active energy, or workout-history contents through analytics. Some events may include an internal exercise identifier without the exercise name or content.
The app creates a pseudonymous installation identifier to group events. It identifies an app installation, not your name or an account. An event may also include its date and time, app version, platform, operating-system version, device model, device type, language, and time zone. The server may see an IP address as a standard technical parameter of the network request; we do not use it as a user identifier in analytics reports.
Analytics is off until you provide consent. You can change your choice in the app settings. Declining or withdrawing consent does not affect the workout journal. After consent is withdrawn, queued events stop being sent and are removed from the device; pseudonymous server records are deleted according to the retention period described below.
Raw events are retained for no longer than 90 days, after which only aggregate metrics without individual event contents are used for product analysis. Aggregate metrics are retained for no longer than 24 months.
For an event-by-event description of the product analytics, see https://kilo-grit.verymad.net/analytics-policy-en.md.
4. Notifications and device permissions
With your permission, KiloGrit schedules local notifications for rest timers and training-plan reminders. These notifications are created and delivered on your device. KiloGrit does not use push notifications or collect a push token.
The current app does not request access to your location, contacts, calendar, camera, photos, Bluetooth, or advertising identifier. It does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, cross-site tracking, or in-app purchases. The limited first-party product analytics described in Section 3 is built into the app and operates only after consent.
5. Exercise images
KiloGrit may download exercise illustrations from GitHub's public content delivery service so they can be displayed and cached on your device. GitHub may receive standard request information, such as your IP address and requested file, under GitHub's privacy policy. We do not receive this information.
6. Website feedback and support
If you voluntarily submit feedback or a support request through https://kilo-grit.verymad.net, we process the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, subject, and message. We use it solely to receive, review, and respond to your request.
Our website and hosting infrastructure may process standard technical request data, such as IP address, browser information, and access logs, to deliver and secure the site.
The website uses two product analytics tools, loaded when you open a page:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). It sets first-party cookies (`_ga`, `_ga_<container-id>`, up to 24 months, or until you clear them) to count visits and distinguish sessions. IP addresses are anonymized (last octet truncated) before storage. We use it only for aggregated usage statistics: pages viewed, referrer, device category, and app-store link clicks. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled. - Microsoft Clarity. It records anonymized session replays and heatmaps so we can see where a page is hard to use. Clarity masks inputs by default and we do not enable IP collection or personal identifiers in it.
Both tools run on the legal basis of your consent. You can decline or withdraw it at any time via your browser: block or delete the cookies in browser settings, or use a "Do Not Track"/global privacy control where supported. Declining never limits the site's content. We do not run advertising campaigns on the site and do not participate in cross-site advertising profiles.
7. Sharing and retention
We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your personal information for advertising. Workout and Health data are not sent to KiloGrit servers. Limited analytics events are sent only for the purposes described above and do not contain workout contents or health metrics.
Website feedback and support requests are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to address the request, maintain related records, or meet legal obligations. Information stored only in the app can be deleted by deleting the relevant data in the app or uninstalling KiloGrit. Uninstalling the app does not delete workouts that you chose to save in Apple Health; manage those in the Health app.
8. Your rights and contact
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of personal information we hold about a website feedback or support request. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, email andrey.fxz@gmail.com.
9. Security and changes
We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect website information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We may update this Policy when the app or website changes. The current version is available at https://kilo-grit.verymad.net/privacy-policy-en.md.
